Boundaries and Healthy Relationships

  • Rainier Valley Midwives 4704 South Mead Street Seattle, Washington, 98118 United States (map)

Our sense of what's normal in relationships is shaped by the culture and systems we grow up in – including ones that normalize control, silence, and inequality. This workshop looks at how we learn what's okay and what isn't, how to develop and communicate our own boundaries, and how to build relationships grounded in honesty and mutual respect. You'll walk away with tools and resources to:

  • Understand how gender norms, power, and culture shape what we accept in relationships

  • Identify patterns in your own relationships that may be worth examining

  • Practice communicating your needs clearly

  • Recognize the difference between discomfort and harm

  • Support others in naming and maintaining their own relational limits
